Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
- Providing leadership in the planning, organization, and coordination of all security operations at the Institute.
- Developing and implementing institutional security policies, procedures, and strategies in line with national laws and best practices.
- Liaising with police and other relevant security agencies on matters related to campus security, investigations, and court cases.
- Ensuring the safety and protection of the Institute’s property, staff, students, and visitors.
- Monitoring and assessing security risks and recommend appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
- Overseeing the deployment and performance of security personnel across all Institute facilities.
- Supervising security staff and ensuring discipline, efficiency, and professionalism in service delivery.
- Maintaining quality assurance and safety standards across all security functions.
- Preparing and submitting regular reports on security incidents, trends, and mitigation measures.
- Coordinating emergency response procedures and security drills.
For appointment to this grade a candidate must:
- Have at least six (6) years relevant work experience
- Be a holder of a degree in Criminology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Have served as a Commissioned Officer, Disciplined Forces of Kenya with a Discharge Certificate.
- Have a certificate of Good Conduct, Firefighting Certificate, and First Aid among other short courses certificates.
- Demonstrate outstanding administrative ability in controlling security guards
- Be proficient in computer applications
- Have working knowledge in use and analysis of CCTV data.
- Knowledge of data protection laws is an added advantage.

iii. Successful candidates will be required to provide clearance from (a) Kenya Revenue Authority, (b) Higher Education Loans Board, (c) Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and (d) a Certificate of Good Conduct from Criminal Investigation Department.
